Midnight Moments: 19.Food
If Ms. Penny ever used the kitchen, it was to heat up leftovers, or food already prepared by her boyfriend. In essence, she was not the one who utilized the kitchen properly.
Often during the weekend, her boyfriend would come to stay over. During that time, he would cook up food for the week. It had been quite the same when they first met in college and started dating. He had found her eating mostly microwave meals or just takeaway. As such, he just continued making food for her, though less often now that they had started to work in different parts of town.
"So, I'll see you on Thursday for dinner at your mother's. Thanks for preparing all that food for me again. Okay come here you deserve all the kisses." Penny leaned over and smooched him on the cheek before he left.
The next day, she took out the container labelled Monday and brought it out to work. She had dinner with Kathleen and Anis from work at a Korean restaurant.
The next day, she took out the container labelled Tuesday and brought it out to work. Dinner was pizza on the way back from the printers.
Over the next few days, she took out the appropriately labelled containers and during the night she had different kinds of dinners.
On Friday, she met Theodore at the grocery store after work. They'd look at the food section and think about what would be great. Usually Theodore would have an idea planned ahead, but that also did depend on what was available or on sale.
Carrying all the groceries and getting on the subway, Penny looked at Theodore, "So have you decide what to make?"
"Yeah. Food."
